Collages & superpositions
Produced as part of an introduction to graphic design, this cover is intended to contain a collector's edition of The Alan Parsons Project band.
The main injunction was to make this cover out of collages.
I have tried to render the group's universe using personal references; the shapes and textures found on the cover originally come from Eva Papamargariti's video entitled New Nosthestics which you will find below.
The artist describes her work as "(...) the overwhelming production of these objects creates an instant immersion to a new "virtuality", composed from distorted abstract morphological schemes."
For me, these evocations echoed the complex worlds evoked by the music of the group represented. So I reworked these graphic elements from the video in order to nest them and prioritize them differently on the cover so that they best serve the message and graphic identity I wanted to convey.
